KUMU HULA

Kumu Ula Hewett was taught hula at a young age by several beloved instructors including her father, Lehua Kawaikapuokalani Hewett; Kumu Hula Mapuana Ringler; Kumu Hula Aloha Dalire and Kumu Hula Kapua Dalire. Competing for Miss Aloha Hula 2022 at the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival, Kumu Ula has been a fixture in the hula community for years.

Not only a graceful dancer and kumu hula, Kumu' Ula’s is also an acclaimed recording artist featured on many Hawaiian music albums.

She continues her family’s legacy teaching worldwide nurturing the next generation hālau extending as far as California and Japan. Her dedication to perpetuating Hawaiian culture and the practice and traditions of hula are palpable from the moment you feel her aloha.
